The brief from the client was to create a water-wise and low maintenance landscape which adhered to all the green star requirements set out by the building.
The brief was also to allow for further expansion of the building in future development which warranted a large open space that was hydro-seeded with a veldgrass mix to maintain coverage.
The landscape achieves a vast array of colours and textures through the use of a fully indigenous and water-wise planting palette and materials such as packed rock and paving.
Existing trees, specifically the beautiful Erythrina lysistemon (Coral Tree) located at the entrance of the building, played a vital role in shaping the design, a planter was built around the tree to protect it and traffic is diverted around it.
The landscape is also irrigated through the use of a grey water harvesting system.
