Situated between the Central Square development and Sun International’s Time Square Development in Menlyn Maine, Central Square Park needed to bridge the gap and allow for pedestrian flow between each development. It also facilitates the people working in the surrounding office buildings.
The organic approach to the design allows the user to flow through the park taking in the colourful planting mixes as well as the large trees which shade the park. A combination of park benches and lawned berms give the user the opportunity to sit and rest without obstructing the constant flow of pedestrians through the space.
An Anton Smit Sculpture is placed atop a lawned berm at the entrance to the park pulling the theme found at the Central Square Park development through to the Time Square Development.
