A Basic Assessment process was undertaken for the construction of six ponds, forming a private open space and recreational use comprising the creation of walkways and bridges, braai and picnic areas, bird hides, game lookout points, game, cycle paths, palisade fencing, a log cabin for admin purposes and a storeroom within the Waterkloof Ridge nature valley, Waterkloof Ridge, Tshwane.
The application also included a compilation of an Environmental Management Plan. The purpose of the project was to create an open space that is integrated into the daily lives and hearts of the community – one that is safe, accessible and well managed, within which people feel secure, stimulated and at home.
The open space not only contributes to the quality of life, but also adds value to the greater environment through its integrated response to ecology, aesthetics, and social needs.
